Mr Bray joined New Hall in September 2010. He was born in Liverpool and remains an avid supporter of Liverpool FC. Mr Bray read Theology as an undergraduate at Durham University and went on to complete a Masters degree in Theology and Religion at Durham. Mr Bray then began his teaching career at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School in Washington, Tyne and Wear, and remained there for three years. His academic areas of interest include biblical theology and hermeneutics, patristics, post-Vatican II ecclesiology and ethics.

Mr Bray has worked as an examiner for a range of examination boards at both GCSE and A Level and is currently an examiner for AQA Religious Studies at A Level. He has also worked as a lecturer in Moral Theology for the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies.

Mr Bray is keen to ensure that the Theology department takes a lead role in living out the Mission Statement and vision of New Hall School as a place that enables students to meet confidently the challenges of the wider world.
