Mr J Sidwell, Vice Principal

MA(London) BSc(Loughborough) PGCE(London)

Mr Sidwell joined New Hall in 2008 as Head of Geography and in 2010 took on the additional responsibility of Boarding Housemaster before joining the Senior Leadership Team in 2012.  His wife Sarah is a teacher of Physical Education in the Senior School and their two children are in the Preparatory School. He was educated at Forest School (HMC), London and completed his undergraduate studies at Loughborough University before completing a PGCE and subsequently an MA at the University of London’s Institute of Education.

Since qualifying in 1997, Mr Sidwell has taught in three Independent Schools where his interests and influence have focused in equal measure on promoting a love of geography in his students alongside a passion for co-curricular involvement.  A key aspect of his role as Vice-Principal has been the development of the exciting and challenging co-curricular programme that we have at New Hall, through which the personal development of each individual is nurtured.
